So we got the first 7 minutes of the pilot episode of Shadowhunters! I was reading some comments and quite a few people aren’t impressed with this. I disagree with them! I thought this was a pretty good beginning for the show! Although it did feel rushed, but I felt that way when I read the first book, I felt that way during the movie, so I wasn’t expecting anything different.
I will say one of the reasons why I’m happy with this is because my expectations aren’t set that high. I am excited for the show, but I don’t expect something that will blow my mind. Especially since this is the pilot episode. I NEVER go into pilot episodes expecting something great. It takes time for a show to find itself! I think this will be a fun series, and I definitely think it will get better as the series go on.
From these 7 minutes, I can say that I love the vibe of the club. It looked fantastic. Of
course Magnus is great, and I loved that we got to see him so early on! I think the costumes for the characters were on point, and worked well for them. I’m not so sure how I feel about Clary or Jace yet. The whole seemed a bit forced(I guess you could say) to me. But we’ll see how it goes when the show airs! Overall, I’m pretty excited for this show and can’t wait for it to air!
