I FINALLY got around to starting The Last Hours trilogy by Cassandra Clare.

I’m about 150 pages into Chain of Gold so far and I’m enjoying it. I’m already invested in these characters and I’m so glad to be back at the London Institute. Also I just love the cover. It’s GORGEOUS! I can’t wait to continue on!

The Anthropocene Reviewed is John Green’s recent book. It’s a nonfiction novel, which is not what I normally read, but I do enjoy his novels and have heard really good things about this one. I figured why not give it a shot. I’m almost finished with this one, and am happy to say that I am liking it!

I’m also reading The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue and am enjoying this story SO MUCH! At this moment, I’m absolutely loving it and can’t wait to see where it goes!

Come on, Bayview, you know you’ve missed this.

A ton of copycat gossip apps have popped up since Simon died, but in the year since the Bayview four were cleared of his shocking death, no one’s been able to fill the gossip void quite like he could. The problem is no one has the facts.

Until now. This time it’s not an app, though—it’s a game. Truth or Dare.

Phoebe’s the first target. If you choose not to play, it’s a truth. And hers is dark. Then comes Maeve and she should know better—always choose the dare. But by the time Knox is about to be tagged, things have gotten dangerous. The dares have become deadly, and if Maeve learned anything from Bronwyn last year, it’s that they can’t count on the police for help. Or protection.

Simon’s gone, but someone’s determined to keep his legacy at Bayview High alive. And this time, there’s a whole new set of rules.

People come to me because I fix things.

Broken taillights, faulty dishwashers, you name it. There are very few things I can’t make brand-new again. If it’s broken, malfunctioning, or just in need of a hand, it lands in my lap. That’s how Trey ended up in front of me, an unexpected stranger in my kitchen.

Only, he’s not broken.

Far from it. He’s gentle, creative, compassionate, and bright, all wrapped up in this timid, cagey package of blond curls and shy smiles. He’s been dealt a bad hand, running from someone that hurt him more than just physically, and he needs my help. My protection.

But Trey is different from every other guy.

He makes me feel things I don’t quite comprehend. Things I didn’t know were buried inside. No matter how hard I try to keep them quiet, I can’t ignore the way his attention quickens my heartbeat or how his soft eyes and even softer lips stir up desires I’ve never had before, and now that he’s this close to me, I’m not letting anything or anyone take him away. “

Shadow and Bone

I have the tv show cover edition because this book is sold out! This is the only edition I could find in stores, and I’m not a fan of this cover…but oh well.

This is all I’ve been seeing and hearing about lately since the show came out. I really want to watch the show, but I also wanted to read the books first so I’m finally reading it. For those who have watched the show, does the show focus on just the first book or the entire trilogy? I’m trying to decide if it’s necessary to read the entire trilogy before watching the show?

One Of Us Is Lying

I’ve been wanting to read this book for a while now, but everytime my library always had it occupied. Finally I was able to get my hands on it and I’m really into this so far!

Fruit Baskets Vol 1

I haven’t read much manga, but I’ve heard quite good things about this one. I only just started this(literally about 10 pages in as I’m writing this) but I can’t wait to get further into this one.

Lord of Shadows

This month I’ve been catching up on Cassandra Clare’s books. I’ve been reading her stories for a very, very long time and I always enjoy them. She puts so many books out that it’s hard to keep up, and to no ones surprise, I fell behind.

I recently finished Lord of Shadows. I don’t know if I will review it, or just do a post with all my thoughts which will probably turn out to be a very rambling post because that book was huge and so much happened!

Reading Plans

Ghosts of the Shadow Market and Queen of Air and Darkness

At the moment I’m reading Ghosts of the Shadow Market, her bind up stories. The bind up contains ten stories, however, I’ve been told to only read the first eight stories and then read Queen of Air and Darkness, and then go back and finish the last two stories in the bind up because they’re big spoilers for QoAaD. So that’s my plan. I always read her stories in publication order so that’s why I plan to read it this way.

Shadowhunter Books

After I finish both of those books, I have to read The Red Scrolls of Magic, Chain of Gold, and finally The Lost Book of the White before I’m all caught up with her Shadowhunter books. As I said before, I LOVE her Shadowhunter stories, and the world that she has created. She has built on this world so much, and I’m so invested in this world and her characters, but damn she writes so many books and so quickly. It’s hard to keep up.

Since the beginning of this year…okay, lets be honest here, more like December, I haven’t read a single book. Every time I tried to pick up a book, nothing would hold my attention. I decided to just wait until I get back into the reading mood. And I finally have been getting into that mood.

I finally picked up a book. My first read of the year is The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory. I thought this would be the perfect ‘getting back into reading’ book because it seems like it’ll be a light, cute, and quick read. Which are the perfect books to get back into reading with. I’m not that far into it, but so far I am enjoying it. So we’ll see how it goes.

Agreeing to go to a wedding with a guy she gets stuck with in an elevator is something Alexa Monroe wouldn’t normally do. But there’s somethi33815781ng about Drew Nichols that’s too hard to resist.

On the eve of his ex’s wedding festivities, Drew is minus a plus one. Until a power outage strands him with the perfect candidate for a fake girlfriend…

After Alexa and Drew have more fun than they ever thought possible, Drew has to fly back to Los Angeles and his job as a pediatric surgeon, and Alexa heads home to Berkeley, where she’s the mayor’s chief of staff. Too bad they can’t stop thinking about the other…

They’re just two high-powered professionals on a collision course toward the long distance dating disaster of the century–or closing the gap between what they think they need and what they truly want…
