The cover reveal and a sneak peek for Michelle Hodkins new series has been released. I really did enjoy the Mara Dyer series, and Noah Shaw was one of my favorites. I’m excited to check this series out. Click here for a Sneak Peek!
I really love this cover! If I saw this in the store, without knowing anything about it, this cover would definitely catch my eye! What do you think? Are you excited for Noah Shaws story?
We’ve been hearing about this for awhile, but to be honest, I really thought it got scraped and it wasn’t going to happen. But, I’m glad I was wrong. We officially have a date and teaser for this show.
Now the first thing that went through my mind when I watched this, was “Damn! Who are these people?” You see, it has been a long while since I read this book. I remember the major points of the story, but other than that, I forgot quite a bit, like most of the characters names(except for Hannah and Clay of course.) The next thing that went through my mind was “this looks like it’ll be good!” I don’t know about you, but I really enjoyed this teaser. It gives you just enough!
I’m trying to decide if I should reread this book before the show or not. I don’t remember much, so it’ll be kind of fun to experience it over.
What’re your thoughts on the teaser? Are you excited?
- Read a Sarah J. Maas book. I’ve heard great things about her stories, and I’ve been wanted to check them out. This will be the year that I do that. However, I can’t decide if I want to pick up Throne of Glass, or A Court of Thornes and Roses.
- Read more adult novels. When I decide what book to read next, I tend to pick up a Young Adult or New Adult novel. This year, I want to branch out and read more adult novels. If you have any recommendations, I would love to check them out!
- Reread my favorite books. I always enjoy rereading, but last year I didn’t reread any of my favorites. I would love to change that this year.
- Participate in readathons. Last year, I didn’t participate in any readathons, and it made me feel like I was missing out. So this year, I want to participate in quite a few readathons. I have to do research and see what ones I would want to join in.
And that’s really it. Short and simple goals for this year. I also have some blogging goals for this year that I will share soon. What’re some of your reading goals for this year?
Lately, I’ve been hearing so many people talk about audiobooks, and how much they enjoy them. It seems as if they’re getting more attention lately, and of course that’s not a bad thing. In fact it’s a great thing, because it means more people are reading!
However, for me, I could never enjoy an audiobook. Why? Mainly because I could never focus on the story when listening to them. I tried to listen to three audiobooks, and within the first few chapters, I would try to remember what I heard, and it was like my mind was blank. I couldn’t remember anything that was said.
A lot of people talk about how they listen to audiobooks on there commute to school, or work, during breaks, cleaning, working out, whenever they have free time. I think that’s fantastic. In a way I’m jealous of people who are able to do that. I tried listening to an audiobook while cleaning, and I could not concentrate on the story at all. It ended up frustrating me to no end.
I’ve come to the conclusion that audiobooks are just not for me, and of course that’s okay. I wish they were though. While reading, I cant be doing anything else. I just have to focus on the story. That’s why I’ll be sticking with my physical and e-copies.
How do you feel about audiobooks? Do they not work for you? Do you love them? If so, what has been your favorite audiobook that you listened to?
So I’m getting back into reading and I thought I would make a post about the books I want to read is month.
I really want to reread Twilight by Stephenie Meyer this month! It has been awhile since I’ve reread this book, and Lately I’ve been in the mood for it.
I want to get to Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children this month since the movie is coming, or already is out. It seems like it would be an interesting read(and I’ve had this book on my shelf for some time now!)
At the end of this month, I’m hoping to participate in Deweys 24 hour readathon. I’m going to be getting some graphic novels from my library for that, but as of right now, I’m not sure which ones. However, I do want to read Saga Vol. 6!
Those are what I’m hoping to get to this month. What are you reading?
So the question is: Why is my Goodreads Challenge only 1 book?
Before I set my challenge to 1 book, I always found myself with this need to complete my Goodreads challenge, and if I didn’t I would feel kind of bad about it. Which shouldn’t be the case right? I shouldn’t feel bad about not reading a certain number of books. Reading anything at all is great! Of course at this time, I believe it was 2012, I was new to Goodreads. I felt as though I HAD to complete it, and seeing everyone else with there goals just added to that feeling. I also noticed that I wasn’t picking up books that I wanted to read, but more so books that I thought would be quick, and help me reach my goal! By doing that, I was missing out on other amazing books.
Eventually, I saw a friend of mine on Goodreads set her goal as 1, with her reasoning and all I could think about was how PERFECT that would be for me. So in 2014 I set my goal for 1 book and ended up reading 29 books that year. It may not seem like a lot, but I felt amazing at the end of the year. I had no stress, no pressure, and I read books that I WANTED to read. When 2015 came along, my goal again was 1 book and I managed to read 74. It felt great!
So every year since then my goal has been to read 1 book. It’s perfect for me because I pick up books that sound fun, books that I want to read. Now, I love to do challenges because I simply have fun with them. If I complete them great. If not, then oh well. It’s all about the fun!
And now I would love to hear from you guys! Are you participating in the Goodreads Challenge? What is your goal? Do you feel pressure to complete it?
