New Years Book Tag

I saw this over on And On She Reads page and thought why not answer these questions.

Yes, I know New Year’s is over, but hey, it’s still January so it’s considered acceptable right?…Right? Oh well, I still wanted to answer them anyway!!!

How many books are you planning on reading in 2023?

I don’t have a set number of books that I want to read. I always set my GoodReads goal to one book, and I’m always happy with that!

Name five books you didn’t get to read in 2022 but want to make a priority in 2023?

They’re are MANY books that I wanted to read in 2022, but just didn’t. Five of them would be:

  • The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna
  • The Red Palace by June Hur
  • Gallant by V.E. Schwab
  • I Kissed Shara Wheeler by Casey McQuiston
  • Book of Night by Holly Black

Name a genre you want to read more of in 2023?

I definitely want to read more manga and possibly some middle grade this year! I would to love to know what you would recommend.

Three non-book related goals for 2023?

I don’t have many, but some non related book goals for me are:

  • Journal more. I definitely have fallen behind on journaling and would love to get back into it this year.
  • Be more active
  • I would love to try to learn a new language. I tried duolingo once a while ago, but just never stuck with it. I would like to try again this year and see what comes out it.

What’s a book you’ve had forever and still need to read?

I was looking at my shelves and on the stuck out to me immediately is The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak. I’ve had this book on my shelf for SO LONG!!! I need to make this a priority for this year!

2023 Reading Goals

Happy New Year everyone! I can’t believe it’s 2023 already!!! Can you?

I thought I’d share some of my reading golas for the year! I don’t tend to make a lot of goals, or difficult goals. I just like to keep them simple. So here are a few of my goals for the year.

Goodreads Challenge

I always participate in the goodreads goal every year, and every year I always make it the same number. And that number is 1. I always put my goal as 1 book because I don’t like the pressure that I found the goodreads challenge put on me. I always felt like I needed to complete the challenge, which is just not the case. So I started to set my goodreads challenge as 1 book many years ago now and it will continue to stay like that.

Finish Series

I definitely have some series that I really want to finish this year. Mainly, I have three top series that I really want to complete. They are

  1. The Aurora Cylce by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman
  2. The Heroes of Olympus by Rick Riordian
  3. The Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo

Those are the three series that I REALLY want to complete this year. As far as the Grisha trilogy goes, I would love to read all the books in the Grisha Universe this year so I can FINALLY join in on all the hype and watch the show!

Read my Kindle Books

Okay this is one I would absolutely love to complete. I have about 100 ebooks on my kindle at the moment, and about 95 percent of them are unread. See my problem is, I come across free ebooks, or ebooks that are 99 cents and I’m like okay they sound good and I could see myself liking this. So I get them, and then they just sit there. Now I do read a lot of ebooks, but the majority of them are from my library, so the ones that I do buy just stay unread. I would really love to start reading the ebooks that I have sitting on my kindle and reduce the amount of unread ebooks I have on it.

Participate in more Readathons.

I always see so many readathons happening that seem like a fun time, and are just so creative. You can tell how much time and dedication the hosts put into them. But I just never particpate in many. So I would love to join in on some more readthons this year. And it the process possible make some new reading friends!

And that’s it.

What are some of your reading goals for the year? Happy Reading!
