I think the first and most important fact to mention is that this story is very raw and dark. It has a lot of mature content and I would highly recommend being 18 or older before reading this book. Another thing to mention is that this will have SPOILERS involved.

When I first went into this book, I honestly had no idea what to expect. What I thought this book would be turned into something 100% completely different.

This story is told in two perspectives- River “Styx” and Salome(or as we call her Mae). This story starts out when these two meet 15 years earlier as kids. From that day it changed everything. The thing that I absolutely adore about this story are the characters. They’re all so different and utterly amazing. I was in love with Styx as soon as he tried to speak. Styx is the President of the Hades Hangmen Motorcycle Club, the youngest president they had at 26. He has a speaking condition which makes it very difficult for him to talk. Instead he just signs, and others translate for those who don’t read ASL. He was only ever able to speak to three people in his life: his dad, best friend(and now VP) Ky, and the mysterious girl with the blue wolf eyes.

giphyMae(Salome) was raised in a VERY STRICT religious commune her entire life. She never left the commune, and so she never knew what life was like on the outside. She was always told it was the devils work and everything evil is outside. She was kept in this commune her entire life because she was considered a “Cursed” because of her beauty. She had to follow every rule, and if not she would be punished and those punishments were not something you want. Until one day(at 23 years old), after seeing her sister die, she decides to run. She escapes the commune, but not before being badly injured. She ends up outside a biker compound and from there her world changes completely. Now for those wondering why she didn’t try to escape before, like I said she has been raised like this her entire life. She believed this is how the world works.

She stays at the compound, and her and Styx are reunited. When everything FINALLY seems to be good, all hell breaks loose. Mae ends up getting captured and brought back to the commune. Styx will do anything to get her back and thus begins the rescue mission to get back his old lady. Not only his old lady, but her sisters as well.

This story is absolutely beautiful, intense, raw, and heartbreaking all in one. I was invested in thistumblr_lpoxx9QsDh1qii6tmo1_400 story the entire time and may have stayed up WAY TOO LATE reading this, but I just needed to know what was going to happen. They’re were twists that I didn’t see coming and could honestly say it surprised the hell out of me. This was my first ever read from Tillie Cole, and I can honestly say this book became one of absolute favorites. Not just this book, but the sequel Heart Recaptured as well. My review for that will be up soon!

Companion/Sequel/Other- First book

This book, I’m not sure where to even start with this review. I guess I’ll start with our two main characters, Emily and O’Connell. Emily is a scared, quiet girl who works at a diner, and studies math at the university. She keeps to herself and doesn’t want to draw any attention. O’Connell is a fighter who doesn’t do relationships, and has his problems with his mother.

This story follows them and there relationship. I guess I’ll just start by admitting that I’m very torn about this relationship. I both love and hate it. To me the relationship felt very fast, and at times unrealistic, and during some scenes O’Connell was a bit too possessive. However, I didn’t hold that over him, because in the beginning he admitted that he was possessive, especially when it came to her. So, yes I had my problems with the relationship, but at the same time I found myself so invested in it. I wanted them to work out, to have a happy ending because with all the problems that they have, they deserve happiness.

What I loved the most about this story where all the other characters. Setumblr_m5xf3iAIYn1rv4pd3o1_250riously, I don’t think I’ve read a story, where I wanted every character to get there own story as well. I would absolutely LOVE to read a story from Danny, Kieran, Tommy, Mac, or Nikki.

Danny is such an AMAZING guy who all the guys at the gym look up to and respect. It’s not just the guys though, Emily adores Danny, and considers him to be a father type. Danny is always there for the ones he cares about and will do anything to help you.

I adore Kieran and well. He is such a fun loving guy, and I so think he and Nikki would be PERFECT together. Can we get a love story between them please?

SPOILERS AHEAD!!! The roma93ebc13ed80016aaa07861018512b3e1nce aside, both O’Connell and Emily had a pretty rough life, with O’Connell pretty much raising himself since he was a kid because his mother was always passed out drunk in her own vomit, and with Emily dealing with her very abusive step father. I’m honestly surprised these two wereKHart-Die-bitch able to find love.

And by the way Frank is a sick son of a bitch and I hate him so much! And Syliva is nothing more than a money grubbing bitch and I hate her.

Overall, it a was both a sweet, intense, and great read. I can honestly say that I’m excited to see what happens next!

This book! Damn this book. I don’t even know where to start. This story follows Samantha who lives with her mom, and sister. They have a good lifestyle especially since her mom became Senator. They’re house and yard are always spotless(her mother seems to have OCD, although it’s never officially confirmed.) They live next door to the Garretts, who are the complete opposite of them, and who Samantha’s mother hates. She always tells her daughters to stay away from that family. What she doesn’t know is that Samantha always watched them from her roof. I know, it sounds a bit creepy, but she watches them in a non creepy way.

Until one nDug-I-Have-Just-Met-You-and-I-Love-You-Upight when she’s on her roof and a boy climbs up and sits right next to her. That boy is none other than Jase Garrett from next door. From there is the beginning of an AMAZING story. And I just have to say how much I LOVE Jase. Right from the beginning.

First and foremost I just need to say how much I freakin LOVE the Garrett family! Seriously can I become one of them? ADOPT ME! They already have 7 kids, just toss me in there! The Garrett family consists of Mr. and Mrs. Garrett, Joel, Alice, Jase, Andy, Duff, Harry, George, and Patsy, and a crap ton of animals. Every single member of the Garrett family is amazing and I love them. Especially George and Patsy. Patsy and George in particular because Patsy just goes around saying “Boob” and “Poop” and it’s so adorable, and George because he just met Sam, and wants to marry her! SO CUTE!

WVqpJ2This story deals with first love and it’s done extremely well. However, what I really enjoyed was that it didn’t just stop there. It deal with SO MUCH MORE than love. It deals with drugs, addictions, politics, in a way corruption, car accidents, and a big one is morals. What’s right and wrong in certain situations.

Samantha’s mother was a very difficult woman. One thing I didn’t like was how easily she was manipulated by that douche bag Clay. I mean, shes a senator, and a single mother, which means she has to be a pretty strong woman. So for her to be so easily manipulated by Clay because he showed interest in her or treated her a certain way, and said the right things, really irritated me. I hate that bastard! But at the same time, I understand that that was his job. He made a career out of being able to manipulate people, and he’s damn good at it!

Overall, Jase and Samantha are such an amazing couple, and I feel like an adoptive member of the Garrett family just by reading this book! I can’t wait to see more of them all in the companion, The Boy Most Likely To! jd-faint-o

Companion/Sequel/Other- Book 1 in trilogy

I want to start off this review by saying that I did try to read this book awhile back and couldn’t really get into it. However, I decided to give it another try and this time I couldn’t put this book down. I think maybe I was just in the right mood to read this book. By the way, this review will have SPOILERS!

Everything about this book was great, but I think what made me love this story so much were the characters. Each one is absolutely amazing.

Penryn, our main character is such a smart, loyal and badass character. She meets, and saves an angel named Raffe. She doesn’t want him around in the beginning, but she realizes that he may be the best chance for her to get her sister, Paige back from the angels who took her. Over the course of the book Penryn and Raffe get closer and a connection starts developing. What I love the most is that it’s not instant, and Penryn doesn’t let her feelings towards him over run her. She has one goal, to get her sister back! Penryn has definitely become one of my favorite female characters ever!

Raffe, is the gorgeous, witty, wingless angel that Penryn saves. Again, he was a character that I absolutely loved. Even without his wings, he’s badass and people still fear him. He has that look that just intimates people, but makes the woman stare in wonder.

Raff200_se and Penryns time together throughout this book was so great to read about. I loved the connection that developed, and you can sense a romance brewing but they don’t fully act on it. Which I loved because HELLO it’s an angel apocalypse. They have so much more that they should be doing such as finding Paige, and getting Raffes wings back! But don’t get me wrong, I LOVED the cute moments between them!

The thing that I loved the most would be the sword. That sword is amazing and absolutely badass. I WANT ONE! GIMME GIMME GIMME!!!

So what I didn’t enjoy about this story, well it’s not really a complaint, but just something that I found weird. The scorpion demon things. I just found those to be weird and bizarre and kind of took me out of the story a bit. But it didn’t ruin it for me.

The ending to this book was absolutely amazing and heartbreaking at the sametoo_much time. ***SPOILERSSPOILERSSPOILERS*** Penryn getting stung and Raffe thinking she’s dead. Oh my freakin lord. And him going crazy and smashing everything, then risking his life to bring her to her family, her people. OH MY…AHHHHH!!! I’m glad I didn’t have to wait to find out what happens next(yes, I already read and finished the second book.) Having to wait would’ve KILLED ME even more.

Companion/Sequel/Other- Book 3 in Forever Series, 3rd and final book following Vincent and Kristen

Goodreads Synopsis- Kristen struggles to hold herself together, until she discovers a revelation that will change everything.

This book is the third and final book following Vincent and Kristen in the Forever Series. This review WILL HAVE SPOILERS!

Characters-

Kristen is a Harvard graduate and a wealth manager. She has traveled to South Africa for a meeting to get the business of Vincent Sorenson. Kristen is smart but at the same time indecisive. She jumps to a lot of conclusions before getting the story.  Kristen definitely has some secrets that she wants to keep.

Vincent is a self made billionaire. He is also full of tattoos and has some piercing, which we find out early on. Vincent is the go getter type. When he wants something he will everything to get it. He is very charming and relentless, as well as a thrill seeker.

Overall

I enjoyed this one a lot more than the first two books in this series. It kept me interested on the story. We focused on Marty, Vincent, and Kristen and how Marty had been pretty much stalking Kristen since she left him. He really was CRAZY!

Oh and if that’s not enough, Kristen is PREGNANT! Honestly, I saw this coming. Like I said if my previous review, this has a similar following to Fifty Shades and I figured this would happened. I didn’t mind it though. I really didn’t care that much about the pregnancy. I was interested more in the developments of Marty, Vincent, and Kristen.

I really enjoyed this part of the story, and was glad with how it ended.

Favorite Quotes

“Hell, if I was here when Marty showed up, I’d probably mace first, ask questions later.”
“Sometimes you have to take a risk because the reward is worth it.”

Companion/Sequel/Other- Book 2 in Forever Series, Book 2 following Vincent and Kristen

Goodreads Synopsis- I knew that giving in to Vincent Sorenson was a risk, but it was one I was willing to take. I had hidden my heart for so long and for the first time in a long time, Vincent was close to breaking down the walls.

This book is the second book following Vincent and Kristen in the Forever Series. This review WILL HAVE SPOILERS!

Overall

I enjoyed this one about as much as I enjoyed the first one. Which isn’t a good thing. I was hoping it would be a bit better than the first one. Again, I believe it’s because the story was so short that everything felt so rushed. I didn’t feel as connected to the characters as I was hoping I would. I can’t remember if I mentioned this in my review of the first book, but this has a Fifty Shades of Grey vibe to it. When I was reading this I kept thinking about those books.

Vincent brings her to his private island, which I admit was romantic, and probably my favorite scene in this one. Kristen tended to get on my nerves a lot in this book. She jumped to SO MANY conclusions without talking to Vincent first. It just seems like she didn’t trust him and that was a problem. This story does however end on a big cliffhanger and I was interested to see how it all ended.
