Run On follows the story of a translator and a sprinter. We follow them throughout their jobs, life, and love.
What I liked?
Seon Gyeom. I really liked his character. He was honest, did what he wanted, didn’t give up, and took responsibility for his actions. It was quite refreshing to see a character like him, and I really think that Si-wan portrayed him well.
Seon Gyeom and Mi-joo as a couple was something that I ended up liking. Now let’s be honest, they really weren’t the most interesting couple, but I did find myself liking this relationship!
Seo Dan Ah. To be honest, I’m quite surprised by how much I ended up loving this character. In the beginning I wasn’t sure how I would feel about her, but by the end I loved her. There’s something about this character that makes you so invested.
Seo Dan Ah and Lee Young-hwa. This damn couple! I loved so much! They were so good together and I wanted so much more from this relationship!
Seon Gyeom and his friends. Seriously for someone who people think doesn’t have friends, he sure ends up with quite a bit. He really does get a long with people and I loved his relationships/friendships with Young-hwa, Wook-Shik, and Young Il. These friendships were great to watch!
Mi-joo job! I absolutely loved seeing Mi-joo working. She has so much passion for her job, it was amazing to see. And I loved how she cared so much about loving herself, and making that important!
The Script. Now to be honest this is a basic plot. Nothing mind blowing but I just think it was done well. The characters and the writing really worked for this script. And I think this is what makes it an either “love it or hate it” type of drama. If you’re not into the characters, you’re going to be disappointed.
What I didn’t like?
Mi-joo! Okay overall I did like her character, but that’s not to say that there weren’t things that really, and I mean really frustrated me about her.
- She was so upset and annoying when she thought Dan Ah wanted Seon Gyeom. Even though she didn’t say it directly and was just trying to help him as his manager, Mi-joo was so annoyed with everything that she did. And at this point they weren’t even together and she would get mad/annoyed if they were just talking. It was frustrating.
- Also the glasses scene really annoyed me. She was the one who wanted him to get his eyes checked, and when they said he would need glasses, she was upset and made faces at every pair because she didn’t want anything to cover his face. It might have just been me, but for some reason I was so annoyed at that part. Why should it matter if he has glasses, or if they cover his face? It just really, really annoyed me. She ended up being so happy when they offered contacts though. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me, but I was frustrated. (By the way, I’m someone who has been wearing glasses for the majority of my life.)
This was really the only thing that I didn’t enjoy, but when it’s the main character, it can really take you out of the drama. Luckily it didn’t last long, and overall I liked her character. Did you guys watch Run On? What did you think?
I really liked this show too! My favourite parts of the drama are how the 4 main characters interact and how they are all a little bit adorably ‘crazy’ in their own ways. It’s a simple drama but I think that’s what makes it work!

I agree! The characters interactions and the fact that it’s a simple drama is what makes it works!
