This week’s topic: Freebie Week!
- A Game of Thrones– I bought the box set of the first four books, and of course they’re still sitting on my shelf. I haven’t watched the show either.
- Looking for Alaska- This book has been on my shelf for so long. It was my first John Green book I bought, but will be one of the last of his books to read.
- Gone Girl- I bought this because I wanted to see the movie. I have yet to read or see the movie.
- Allegiant- I tried to read this book twice already and I have trouble getting into it. I’m thinking about giving it one more chance and then I’m just going to say NO!
- Throne of Glass- Everyone is talking about this book. I bought this for my nook when the fourth book was about to be released, and I still haven’t read it.
- Under the Dome- This is another one I got for my ereader, and have yet to read it. I figured it would be easier and less intimidating to read this if it was on my Nook. I really enjoyed the show…at least the first 2 seasons of it!
Oh gosh, story of my life! It’s embarrassing haha!! Especially when the paperback or sequel comes out and I haven’t read the hardcover I preordered… whoops. But books are always there at least and it’s never too late to read them! I loved A Game of Thrones and binged them a few years ago. You’re better off waiting anyway until they announce the 6th book release (hoping for next summer!) but they are amazing. It’s one of the only adult fantasy series I’ve read. I enjoyed Throne of Glass too, it’s a series where each book is better than the last in my opinion. I always forget about books I have on my ereader, need to get to some of those! 🙂

I really do need to start the game of throne books. By the time I finish them all the 6th may just be out! Hahaa everyone is raving about the show, so I need to start it soon!
I’ve been reading my ebook a lot more lately, which I’m glad about. I have a ton of unread books in my nook!

Ooh nice topic and picks! I feel like one of the rare few who actually liked Allegiant! It was emotional for sure, but I loved it! Throne of Glass, I did read, but didn’t see what the hype was all about and felt let down entirely by it. So I stopped the series then and there.
Hope you get to read all of these soon and love them!
Here’s my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!

It’s great to see people who aren’t absolutely in love with the Throne of Glass series! All I see are raves reviews, and I don’t want to get that excited, just to be disappointed!
I’m hoping to push through Allegiant, so I can finally say I finished the trilogy!

I think this should have been a topic for everyone. My list would be a mile long! I have read many of these, though. A Game of Thrones is good, if you have some time to dedicate to it. The TV series is just as good as the book, too.

I see people on Twitter always raving about the show! And each time I’m like “screw it, I’m just gonna start the show” but I never do. I’m so glad though, not to have been spoiled on anything!

I do this sometimes–especially when it’s the last book of a series. Or when my library checkouts get out of control… My TTT</a

Allegiant was pretty meh to be honest. Divergent drew me in, but then the other books just utterly failed to deliver.

That’s my feelings a bit. I loved Divergent, enjoyed Insurgent, but I’m having trouble getting into Allegiant!

I’m not a huge fan of Throne of Glass but I LOVED Gone Girl! I hope you get to it soon, because it was just amazing and twisty for me. 🙂

I think you may be one of the few who aren’t a huge fan of throne of glass! All I see are raving reviews, so it’s great to see someone who wasn’t a huge fan!
I can’t wait to get to Gone Girl! Those aren’t the books I usually read so I’m excited!

Haha, I’ve very specific reasons for not liking the book (namely the characters), and I think most readers LOVE them. 😛
Hope you enjoy it~!

I know this feeling so well…especially when so much of these have to haves come from frugal discount buying HAHA. Good problems to have, I guess!

I liked Throne of Glass but it’s a little hard to get into (the second one is better though, so don’t give up!). Gone Girl was sooo good! Slow to start with but it gets amazing! Allegiant was pretty bad, I don’t recommend it.

Haha! I love this! *glances at giant box full of unread books* Though, granted I buy most of my books when they’re on sale. So, I feel like it’s not so bad if I stock up on books and then… don’t. read. them. >.> Right. But I have to say I enjoyed ‘A Game of Thrones’. It can be difficult, but the world building and plot weaving is amazing. If you can find the time to push through (over a month or two like me :p), I think you’ll enjoy it.
Allegiant. Hm… Yeah. I read it, but I also hate not finishing series. I can’t say I really enjoyed the ending, but the conclusion was… different from many books in the genre and therefore worth reading (if you can stomach the middle parts.)
Ah. Throne of Glass. I also have this book, but I got it from a secret santa… last christmas… and I still haven’t read it. Ugh. How do we do this? I mean, how do we let the books sit there without being read? Goodness. I need to remedy this (also because my family is starting to think I’m a book hoarder *cough*). Lovely theme! I might have to try this at some point… down the road… when I open that book box again… >.>

I hate not finishing series as well, which is why I really want push through and just read Allegiant! Who knows, maybe I’ll enjoy it!
I always feel bad when I get books as gifts and don’t read them!
I think my family thinks I’m becoming a book hoarder as well! I ran out of room on my shelf so now I’m stacking them on the floor until I get a new shelf. And they’re too many unread***the shame***

Oh man! I have to say I’m happy to no longer be a kid because I used to get books all the time from people and never read them. >.>
Haha! I have most of mine in boxes still because I’ve been moving so much. Now, though, I’ll need to actually buy a bookshelf to display them all on. I’m kind of excited about it! :p *sounds like a crazy person for being excited about buying a bookshelf*
